Hey, the garbage man is here... |

...said one of the famous Marx brothers one morning, when he looked out the window. One of the other brothers quickly answered: "Well, tell him we don't want any!" Nobody wants garbage. Even a self-proclaimed green nation like Denmark produces lots of it - like any other country. There's a huge effort being made in Denmark to deal with the many different kinds of waste. In fact, understanding the underlying system can be challenging for foreigners. Ordinary household garbage is collected and driven to large incineration plants to generate heat and electricity. Apart from that, citizens are expected to recycle as much as possible. This goes for garden waste, glass, paper, metal scrap, carton and almost all kinds of hazardous materials like electronical equipment, which have to be delivered to the local garbage reception facility. Relocare will guide you smoothly through the Danish waste disposal system. The rules and regulations may vary locally but the overall principles are basically the same all over the country. |
