In the coming years, the workforce increasingly has to be found outside Europe, since Europe is not going to have enough qualified workers. This workforce will largely come from countries where children are raised under poor conditions, having fought their way up to become a skilled workforce. For the future this means that Danish leaders will need to handle a much greater diversity - not just in relation to nationality, but also in relation to employee motivation and requirements for the company. Lack of cultural competence creates many difficulties, primarily in relation to cooperation, knowledge, understanding and communication - both between manager and employee, but also internally in management. Lack of cultural competence costs money and has caused major problems in international Mergers & Acquisitions. Relocare focuses on the development of intercultural empathy: Danish leaders must know why the Danish culture makes us who we are and how to understand and adapt to another culture. By raising managers' intercultural empathy at the seminar we focus on minimizing misunderstandings and complications of cooperation and communication between managers and employees who have a different cultural background or nationality. The result is likely to increase efficiency and profitability in the global market while minimizing loss of knowledge. The individual feedback and coaching sessions provide managers with a general awareness about their intercultural competence, differences and similarities between Danish and international staff and what they should be aware of.
